The law brings division and judgment, but grace brings reconciliation and mercy.

James 2:10–11 (CSB) —10For whoever keeps the entire law, and yet stumbles at one point, is guilty of breaking it all. 11For he who said, Do not commit adultery, also said, Do not murder. So if you do not commit adultery, but you murder, you are a lawbreaker.
Ephesians 2:14–15 (CSB) —14For he is our peace, who made both groups one and tore down the dividing wall of hostility. In his flesh, 15he made of no effect the law consisting of commands and expressed in regulations, so that he might create in himself one new man from the two, resulting in peace.

The law points to sin, but grace points to Jesus.
Romans 7:7 (CSB) —7What should we say then? Is the law sin? Absolutely not! But, I would not have known sin if it were not for the law. For example, I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, Do not covet.
John 1:16–17 (CSB) —16Indeed, we have all received grace upon grace from his fullness, 17for the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

The law brings a sense of guilt and shame, but grace brings freedom from condemnation.
Click here for the full "The Law vs. Grace" sermon.
Romans 8:1–4 (CSB) —1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, 2because the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3For what the law could not do since it was weakened by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh as a sin offering, 4in order that the law’s requirement would be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

The law focuses on external purity, but grace transforms the heart, leading to true holiness.
Matthew 23:25–26 (CSB) —25“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup, so that the outside of it may also become clean.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (CSB) —17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!

Watch your mouth.
Ecclesiastes 5:2–3 (CSB) —2Do not be hasty to speak, and do not be impulsive to make a speech before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few. 3Just as dreams accompany much labor, so also a fool’s voice comes with many words.

You have permission to rest.
Ecclesiastes 4:4–6 (CSB) —4I saw that all labor and all skillful work is due to one person’s jealousy of another. This too is futile and a pursuit of the wind. 5The fool folds his arms and consumes his own flesh. 6Better one handful with rest than two handfuls with effort and a pursuit of the wind.

Value the people around you
Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 (CSB) —9Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their efforts. 10For if either falls, his companion can lift him up; but pity the one who falls without another to lift him up. 11Also, if two lie down together, they can keep warm; but how can one person alone keep warm? 12And if someone overpowers one person, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not easily broken.

Value the moment
Ecclesiastes 3:1–8 (CSB) —1There is an occasion for everything, and a time for every activity under heaven: 2a time to give birth and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uproot; 3a time to kill and a time to heal; a time to tear down and a time to build; 4a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance; 5a time to throw stones and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace and a time to avoid embracing; 6a time to search and a time to count as lost; a time to keep and a time to throw away; 7a time to tear and a time to sew; a time to be silent and a time to speak; 8a time to love and a time to hate; a time for war and a time for peace.
